What about the smell? It didn’t have that noxious chemical scent that we all associate sunscreen to have. I didn’t have to wait five or even ten minutes before layering my products over it, I just threw primer and foundation on and it was fine. I would still use this sunscreen for that reason but the way it broke my skin’s heart, I can’t do that. The only good thing I can say about this sunscreen is that my makeup didn’t shift, pill, or rub off when I wore makeup over it. It’s never fully absorbed into the skin, it just sits there and reminds you of all of your failures, all of your mistakes…how rude. Which isn’t saying much, is it? This was so heavy and thick that it’s impossible for the product to be matte. Was it matte? It was matte compared to the greasiest sunscreen you’ve ever used. Also, if you aren’t careful and it’s not fully rubbed in, then congratulations, your face is now a streaky, greyish white mess.

This sunscreen, if you don’t work quickly, will leave behind an unflattering white film. If you’ve used acrylic paint, then you know what I mean if you leave the paint on a surface for too long, a stain/film is left behind. Think the thickest toothpaste, oil paint, a dried out clay mask, that’s how thick it was. It only became sheer after quickly (and roughly) rubbing it into my skin. It is so thick that when dabbing it on my face, I had to rub it in quickly or it would’ve left behind these horrible white streaks. Okay, thank you.)Īpparently, this is supposed to be a sheer, matte and dermatologist approved sunscreen but all of it was a lie after a lie. What’s more accessible and convenient than Neutrogena, right? (If someone out there ever invents a time machine and is reading this, please go back in time and save me from this sunscreen. I needed a sunscreen that had great SPF but was affordable, accessible, and convenient enough that I could buy it at a store near me. (Please note: my Maggie does not sniff butts. I’ve been using two of Etude House’s sunscreens and I’ve been loving them (a real proper review on them will be coming shortly!) but I go to the dog park every day and I don’t want to waste them for a park filled with mosquitos and butt-sniffing dogs. This evil, menacing, villainous, viciously horrid sunscreen. I’m still saying aloud, “my poor face” and that’s why I wanted to talk about this sunscreen.

Okay fine, there weren’t just a few exclamations, there was almost an hour of me being horrified and muttering to myself about my poor, poor, heartbroken face. To be completely honest, I didn’t even curse when I looked at my face in the mirror earlier, not even one curse! I was a little… dramatic, a few exclamations of, “my poor face!” and pacing, lots of pacing.

I could easily add a few expletives but I won’t, I’m not petty (okay, that’s a big lie). I have so many other things I want to write about, so many products in my queue to test and review.īut I’ve been using this sunscreen for three days now and with the way it treated my skin, I need to talk about this horrid sunscreen.

I honestly didn’t plan on writing this, I never even thought to write an impromptu post about one of Neutrogena’s sunscreen.
